Clay County Commissioner • District 4
Not a career politician — just a neighbor ready to serve.
The Rohyans family — Caleb, Claire, Shari, Abram & Aaron
I'm Aaron — husband, dad of three, and a proud Clay County resident. My wife Shari and I are raising our kids Caleb, Claire, and Abram right here, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We're active members at LifeChurch, where Shari and I serve on the prayer team and have led multiple small groups over the years.
By day, I work in the IT cybersecurity industry for a company called Zscaler, where I manage a team that builds and executes strategy for our partnerships with some of the biggest organizations on earth — Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. I graduated from the University of Indianapolis with a B.S. in Information Systems — Dean's List, three-year varsity wrestling letterman, which means I learned early on how to dig in and not give up!
My wife Shari is a Physical Therapist who currently homeschools our kids and serves as the Associate Teaching Director for Community Bible Study (CBS). She's the real MVP of our family.
I've served on neighborhood HOA boards as well as the boards and finance committees of local churches — so I'm no stranger to budgets, tough conversations, and making decisions that serve a community (not just a few).
When we're not working or at church, you'll find us out on Dale Hollow Lake. We boat out of Mitchell Creek Marina — I'm usually behind the boat on a slalom ski, the boys are tearing it up on the wakeboard, and Shari and Claire are soaking up the Tennessee sun. If you're looking for me, check the lake first!
“I'm running for District 4 Commissioner because I believe our community deserves leadership that puts people first. Not special interests. Not personal agendas. People.”
I've talked with many of our neighbors, and the message is clear: it's time for fresh perspectives and new energy in county government. Residents want leaders who will make decisions based on what's best for all of us — not just a select few.
I'm not a career politician. I'm a neighbor, a dad, and someone who cares deeply about the future of Clay County. I bring real-world experience in problem-solving, technology, and fiscal management — skills I want to put to work for District 4.
County government should operate in the open. Every decision should be made with the community's best interest at heart, and residents deserve to know how and why those decisions are made.
Your tax dollars matter. I will advocate for responsible spending that delivers real value to our community — not wasteful projects that benefit only a few.
I'll be accessible. If you've got a concern, I want to hear it. No closed-door deals, no runarounds. Your commissioner should be someone you can actually talk to.
As Clay County grows, we should be smart about it — protecting what makes this place special while welcoming new opportunities that benefit everyone.
